A NYC man is accused of stabbing three people to death, and fatally running down a fourth person with a car during a 28-hour crime spree (Feb 12 and 13, 2011). Amazingly no guns were used in the murders. If someone were to listen to the rhetoric of NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg, they might come to the conclusion that it is impossible to murder someone without a gun… or that if guns were not available no murders could occur. Contrary to Mayor Bloombergs logic, murder still happens without guns and the police are not there to protect the people.
Is Michael Bloomberg responsible for the the death of theses people??? More then the knife that was used in the stabbing or the car that was used to run down the person, since those are inanimate objects with no will of their own. Michael Bloomberg on the other hand, willfully and intentionally prevented these people from defending themselves. If Mayor Bloomberg insists on blaming guns in cases of shooting deaths, why not blame the knife, the car or himself in this case. Could the outcome have turned out the same if these people had easier access to gun ownership in NYC? That is impossible to know with certainty, however, the local government could not be held responsible for disarming the people. As it stands now, NYC has unconstitutionally disarmed its people and at the same time failed to protect them.
It is obvious that I am using this tragedy for to make a point in favor of an unquestionable Second Amendment Right… in the same manor that Michael Bloomberg uses every tragedy that involves a firearm as a platform to try to further restrict the Right to Self Defense through out the whole United States. My argument that Michael Bloomberg is responsible for this murder spree is just as valid or invalid as his arguments that guns kill people. Since Mayor Bloomberg has made it his strategy to use every shooting tragedy in the nation to attack our gun rights… is it not fair to use every tragedy in NYC that does not involve guns against him?

Gangs loose on the Streets of Egypt while Police Vanish
Just like Hurricane Katrina and the L.A. riots, now in Egypt, when citizens need the police the most, the Police are no where to be seen. This is not something that is unique to the Police of New Orleans, L.A., Cairo or Athens… this is a recurring pattern that highlights that police work is only a job. Most of the people who do that job will not put people whom they do not know before their own safety or the needs of their own families.
It has been proven time and time again that the final responsibility of self protection rests on the individual. No where was this more evident then aboard the flights that crashed into the World Trade Center. The people had been trained from birth to believe that when threatened they should “submit” to the will terror. They were taught to believe that the “police” will soon be along to rescue them. If the people on board the planes had taken matters into their own hands and immediately attacked the hijackers, they would have saved thousands of lives on the ground and probably their own too.
Aside from the natural instinct of self preservation that cops hold there is a deep deficiency in their training. Police training focuses on the 99 percent of the time where there is general order. Their training assumes that they will have a numerical advantage over the bad guys. If they don’t have a numerical advantage then their orders are to wait for more police to arrive. In a natural disaster or riot type of situation where they are outnumbered, they are completely dumb founded and don’t know what to do except retreat.
I spent much of my life in NYC and have privately spoken to many cops over the years. The fact is that most of them hold a deep contempt for the people they protect. They categorize them as either greedy Wall Street types… or low life ghetto scum. There is only a very slim margin in the middle who they consider good citizens and those are people they personally know. I have asked them what they would do in a Hurricane Katrina type situation and they all gave me the same answer… they would look after their own families.

Swords, Guns and Fighter Jets in relation to Liberty
It is not coincidence that Individual Liberty and the wide spread ownership of firearms where born at the same time and in the same place… America.
The key to liberty is that the citizens be on an equal footing with government. This could not have occurred in the the period before guns, because it takes a minimum of two years of consistent training to make a semi-competent swordsman. I know because I train in swordmanship. Farmers and working people do not have to time to devote to this. The American Revolution for freedom and independence began and succeed as a result of the American Colonists being individually armed on an equal level as the tyrants who oppressed them.
Anybody who has decent vision and a steady hand, can become a competent marksmen with just a few hours of training and practice. The primary difference between American Farmers and European Serfs is that American Farmers had guns and could not be subdued.
It is my opinion that the widespread use of tanks and fighter jets poses a longterm threat to individual liberty because it has created a huge gap between the defense capabilities of individuals and that of government. Even if it was legal for individual to buy tanks and fighter jets, it is simply to too expensive and the training takes to long for the average working person. I know it is impossible to turn back the clock, but we should certainly not limit the firearms that people can afford.
At the time of the writing of the Constitution of the United States of America, every individual had the right to own every weapon that was available to government. The Founding Fathers where very comfortable with this balance of power. Any attempts to increase the gap between the defensive capabilities of individuals and that of government is contrary to what the Founding Fathers desired. Allowing individual to own large capacity magazines and even machine guns is following the prescription given to us by the Framers of our Constitution of keeping government fearful of the people. The Second Amendment extends to any weapon that an “individual” can carry and operate. This includes historical weapons, current weapons and future weapons. The Founding Fathers of this country had the foresight to look ahead many generations beyond their immediate difficulties, we should do the same.
Freedom comes with a price. It is a price of blood that must be continually paid. The Founding Fathers foresaw this and accepted it as a condition of being free. This is not necessarily a price that must be paid on some foreign land as we attempt to keep foreign threats at bay… it is also a price that must be paid at home. Freedom requires that we be willing to face the day to day threats in our own neighborhoods that arise out of our own rights. The framers of our constitution had a similar dilemma as they witnessed firearms being sold to Indians by rogue merchants. In those days Indians were regarded a threat similar to drug cartels today. Given a choice between armed Indians or future tyrants, they choose the lesser of evils… which was the wide spread availability of firearms to oppose tyrants.
When the threat of a future tyranny on a national level is weighted against the the occasional localized act of violence, the localized threat is by far the lesser of evils. We must have the courage to accept this and reject all attempts of restricting the Second Amendment. There are two possible motivations for any attempts of gun control on the the American people… either cowardness or a malicious plot to strip away freedom from the American people a little at a time.
Let us not forget that Rome was a Republic for 500 years before it fell to tyranny.

NRA Certified Training Courses
Goal: To Teach the Knowledge, Skill and Attitude Necessary for Owning and Using Firearms.

-Email to reserve a seat and receive directions from PA, NY, NJ, OH, Canada. or anywhere else.
-Students may also inquire about possible alternate days that will fit their schedules.
-The class size is kept small so that it is highly interactive and enjoyable. The classes are taught by a Certified NRA Instructor.
-Experienced shooters should learn to reload ammunition. Reloading saves ammunition cost and improves accuracy.

Pocono Shooting Range
Shooting is fun for the whole family... kids too.
Minors (under 18) will be allowed to shoot small caliber pistols and rifles with a parent or guardian present on the range. Depending on the comfort level demonstrated with the small calibers, youth will be allowed to gradually move up. In general, Pennsylvania Law encourages youths to shoot and hunt (under adult supervision). Shooting is a wonderful family activity... just because anything that the family does together, is good for the family. This is a private range and only one person will shoot at a time. This is an ideal condition for beginners.
Everyone 18 and over is eligible as long as you are not a criminal or have criminal intent. I reserve the right to dismiss anyone who I find immature or otherwise dangerous.
An official photo ID will be required for purposes of record keeping. All personal information will be kept confidential.

Black Powder Shooting
If you want the best value for your money, shooting large .44 caliber ball and cap revolvers and rifles is the way to go. These are the revolvers of the American Civil War era. These revolvers are in a class above modern day pistols because these were designed for use as assault weapons in Calvary charges. Modern pistols are intended as personal defense weapons.
$200 for two hours. $400 for 5 hours. This time includes instruction.
First I will train you with a conventional .22 pistol so that you learn to aim and shoot. Then we go to the big cowboy guns. Black Powder Revolvers are different then modern firearms, where bullet, propellant and primer are contained within a single casing know as a cartridge. With pre 1870 revolvers, black powder was poured loosely into each chamber of the revolver. A ball was then loaded into each chamber and then rammed down using a built in lever and plunger. Caps were then placed on the back of the cylinder. The hammer struck the caps which then set off the powder inside the cylinder propelling the ball out the muzzle.

It is my opinion that black powder shooting is a lot more fun than modern ammunition. It is also more economical and you will spend more time at the range shooting large caliber guns for less money. Within the two (or five) hour period you will have the opportunity to shoot both Revolver and Caplock Rifle. The Caplock Rifle is a lot more powerful and will shoot a greater distance accurately. I also have a Flintlock Rifle available for your Black Powder shooting experience if you choose the five hour option.
